Indian Announce Squad For The Test Series Against Sri Lanka

Indian selectors have announced the squad for the first two Test matches against Sri Lanka. There were speculations that captain Virat Kohli might be rested but nothing of that sort has happened and Virat Kohli will lead Team Indian in the 3-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

Murali Vijay, who is India’s first-choice opener in Test cricket, has attained his full fitness and he has replaced Abhinav Mukund.

After getting ignored for the ODI series against Australia and New Zealand, India’s tried and tested Test spinners, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin have also been included in the squad while Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav is in the squad to serve as the third choice spinner.

The series will begin on 16th November in Kolkata. The second Test is being scheduled for 24th November in Nagpur. And the third test will be played in Delhi from 2nd December.

India and Sri Lanka will also play a two-day warm-up tie against the Board President XI, the team for which has been announced as well.

Indian Test Squad (2 matches): Virat Kohli (captain), KL Rahul, Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Mohamed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma.
