Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are two of the strongest pillars of the current Indian cricket team. These two are modern day greats and they have contributed significantly towards the success of Indian cricket in the last one decade.
In the fifth and final ODI of the recently concluded 5-match series between Sri Lanka and India, Virat Kohli scored his 30th ODI hundred and surpassed great Ricky Ponting in the list, on the basis of number of matches played.
Kohli looked in great touch right from the word and go and played in his trademark ‘chase master’ style. Kohli didn’t play any lose stroke and kept the temp up throughout the innings.
Kohli scored 80 odd not out in the first match and failed to get going in the second and third match. But, he came strongly in the fourth and fifth ODIs and scored consecutive hundreds. At such a young age, breaking Ricky Ponting’s ODI hundreds record is a massive achievement.
Coming back to Dhoni and Kohli, there was a very adorable moment in the match when MS Dhoni gave strike to Virat Kohli in order to let him score the winning run. This is not the first time that MS Dhoni has done this but it was a great spectacle for Indian cricket fans as two of the most loved Indian cricketers shared a memorable moment in the middle.
