Twitter Reacts On Ravindra Jadeja Single Handedly Beating RCB

The Chennai Super Kings continuing their victory run in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by a margin of 69 runs, and the hero of their victory came up to be Ravindra Jadeja. Contributing with both the bat and the ball in hand, Jadeja’s heroics was the defining factor in Chennai’s stomping win against RCB.

Things started on a good note for CSK as their opening batsmen, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis put on a 74 run opening partnership, before the former departed on the first delivery of the 9th over the Chennai innings. Faf du Plessis along with his new incoming partner, Suresh Raina continued taking forward the Chennai innings and brought the total to 111 runs at the end of 13 overs, after which Raina departed, having scored 24 runs. The very next delivery brought in a big jolt for CSK as their settled batsman Du Plessis was dismissed off a Harshal Patel delivery after scoring a half-century.

The job of finishing off the innings was now on the shoulders of Ravindra Jadeja, who had come on to the crease after the fall of two consecutive wickets in the 14th over of the inning. Ambati Rayudu, was there on the other end, struggling to find that pace. But, making up for all of it was Sir Jadeja who continued thrashing the RCB bowlers all over the park. Chennai lost their 4th wicket in the 18th over of their inning as Rayudu’s wicket fell to the hands of Harshal Patel.

Ravindra Jadeja shined both with the bat and the ball demolishing RCB

Things were a bit quiet in the middle during the 19th over which was bowled by Mohammad Siraj. But, then came the fateful 20th over of that inning that made Jadeja the sparkle of every Chennai fan. Facing Harshal Patel who had been successful in the game so far, Jadeja decided to go all out in the over and smacked 37 runs in the over, including 5 sixes, boosting CSK’s total to 191 runs at the end of their innings. With this performance of his in the over, Jadeja got his name registered in the record books as the joint holder of the record of most runs in the 20th over of an inning in the history of the tournament. Jadeja walked off with 62 runs to his name off just 28 deliveries.

To add to the woes of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, and the joy of the Chennai fans, there was still more to come from the end of Sir Jadeja. When it was Bangalore’s turn to bat, CSK’s captain, MS Dhoni turned to Jadeja for his services with the ball in hand in the 7th over. And, on the very second delivery, he delivered, sending Washington Sundar back to the pavilion. In the following over which Jadeja bowled, he got Chennai the wicket of the in-form Glenn Maxwell. Striking for the third time in the inning, he also managed to get the better off AB de Villiers, when he faced off against him, in the 11th over of the RCB innings. Jadeja continued bowling tight lines and made sure that he maintained an economy of 3.20 runs an over. To add to all of this, was the run-out that Jadeja affected to send Dan Christian back to the pavilion.

When the CSK storm subsided the team was there, having defeated the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 69 runs and at the helm of the affairs was Chennai’s favourite lad, Ravindra Jadeja.
