Harsha Bhogle has always been a storyteller and the way he has weaved in words in perfect sync with each other makes him a very special man to be in the commentary box.
As Punjab Kings kept on taking one bump after the other, courtesy of Deepak Chahar’s incredulous bowling figures and some crazy fielding from Ravindra Jadeja, it brought out Sharukh Khan, the new batting sensation who was brought in by Punjab Kings at the mini-auction convened in Chennai.
Punjab brags about a heavy top-order followed by more or less one-hit wonders in the middle order. However, Shahrukh Khan, the newcomer to the side has displayed decent figures in the domestic circuit that saw him starting a mini-war at the auction.
It was based on the heroics of Shahrukh Khan that saved Punjab from the blushes of humiliation in the face of an early landslide. The youngster managed a fine 47 from 36 balls that saw him smacking 4 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries.
After chipping with a gem of a knock, he was finally dismissed by Sam Curran when Jadeja pulled off another take in the field to refuse the youngster his maiden half-century at IPL.
However, whenever we have heard about Shahrukh Khan in Wankhede, we have always fallen back to the glorious scenes of the Bollywood icon, King Khan. Every single time he has belted out a masterclass through the silver screen or has performed a dance along the side-rails of Wankhede with every single triumph of KKR, it has been nothing short of a spectacle.
As Shahrukh Khan, the batsman, took the field today, Harsha belted out a peach of his own as he quoted, “Sharukh Khan at the Wankhede stadium is a completely different story.”
Twitteratti never tends to miss out on those small gems as there was praise for this cricketing poet, applauding his witty sense of humour laced with some brilliant wordplay.
“Sharukh Khan at the Wankhede stadium is a completely different story.”
Harsha Sir having some fun, isn’t he? 🙂
