Andre Russell Replies To SRK’s Apology Message On Twitter

Andre Russell Replies To SRK’s Apology Message On Twitter: Bollywood superstar and KKR’s co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was left disappointed after KKR lost the game last night to Mumbai Indians by 10 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Chasing a modest total of 153 runs, KKR messed up badly and went from 104-3 to 142-7 in a span of 7 overs.

After the match, Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter and expressed his disappointment over KKR’s performance. In his tweet, SRK also apologized to the fans of KKR. He wrote:

Disappointing performance. to say the least @KKRiders apologies to all the fans!”

Later, in the post-match conference, KKR’s star all-rounder Andre Russell echoed SRK’s sentiments and said that he supports the reaction from Shah Rukh Khan. He also claimed that at the end of the day you are not sure about the game until it’s over. He said:

Yeah, I support that (Shah Rukh Khan) tweet but at the end of the day the game of cricket… you are not sure until it’s over”.

Earlier in the day, Andre Russell picked his maiden five-wicket haul in T20 cricket when he finished the game with the figures of 5/15 in 2 overs. However, he failed to give the best of his abilities with the bat as he was dismissed by Trent Boult in the final over after scoring only 9 runs off 15 balls. Talking about the game, Russell said:

I think we are still confident, we still played some good cricket and I am proud of the boys. You know, we are definitely disappointed but it’s not the end of the road, it’s only the second game and we are going to learn from it,”

Talking about the collapse towards the end, he said, “I just think it’s a game of cricket. I have played hundreds of T20 games and I have seen games where teams cruise in on the driver’s seat and then suddenly lose a few wickets, new batters come in and struggle to get away and that’s what happened tonight.”

He added:

“So, we definitely have to learn from this as I have said before. We will look to make sure that who’s in, stays in and once we learn from all these mistakes that happened tonight we will definitely do better because we have a good team. I have trust and confidence in the boys”.

Furthermore, Rusell admitted that it was challenging for him to bat as the wicket wasn’t the easiest one to bat on. He said:

“You have to try and stay as still as possible, be open-minded. It is a difficult wicket to bat on and it is not easy for a new batsman to come in and start the hitting from ball one. It is very challenging, even for me the ball was a bit up and down. It is not the easiest wicket to bat on, no matter how good you are you still need a couple of balls to actually get your eye in,”
