Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was all praises for team’s swashbuckling batsman Suryakumar Yadav and his fearless performances. On Tuesday, as Mumbai Indians locked its horns with Kolkata Knight Riders, SKY displayed his batting masterclass once again and entertained the fans with his thrilling knock.

Though the team got off to a slow start, however, SKY helped the team revive the innings after a slow start. SKY who walked out to bat at number 3, was at his best form as he smashed the KKR bowlers to all the corners of the ground from the word go.

SKY made sure that the pressure didn’t get to MI’s skipper Rohit Sharma, who was batting at the other end. SKY first spoiled Harbhajan Singh’s economy and smashed him for three fours in an over. Later, he smashed his first six of the game off Prasidh Krishna, who conceded 16 runs off his first over. In the 10th over, SKY smashed another majestic six, which allowed him to get to his half-century.

Later, after the match, during the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma was asked about SKY’s performance. Rohit was all praises for the fearless performance of SKY and claimed that it doesn’t look like SKY is taking risks when he hits some big shots. He said:

“I think SKY [Suryakumar] is carrying that form that he had when he played for India. He’s very fearless when he bats. When he plays those shots it doesn’t look like he’s taking risks, those are cricketing shots. We need a guy who bats fearlessly. I’m glad that we could get some partnerships in the middle and get a decent total. We need to just figure out how to finish innings in the last 5 overs. We’ve done that in the past.”
