India’s young fast bowler Shardul Thakur made an impressive start to his One Day International career in the match against Sri Lanka. Shardul, who is rated very highly in the domestic circuit of India, bowled consistent lines at good pace and didn’t give too many runs with the new ball.

Shardul dismissed Sri Lanka’s Niroshan Dickwella and picked his first wicket in ODI cricket. It wasn’t the best of deliveries but he got lucky and made a good start to his career. It was going down the leg stump and got a little tickle on Dickwella’s glove. The umpire gave it a wide but the devisor was reviewed by India and he had to change his original decision.

Dhoni Review System

MS Dhoni is very good when it comes to taking reviews. Over the years, we have seen MS Dhoni keep an eagle eye on things happening in the middle and use DRS very wisely. In fact, Indian captain Virat Kohli uses inputs only from MS Dhoni to take reviews. In the last few months, we have seen Virat Kohli going against MS Dhoni’s call and losing the review.

Coming back to Shardul Thakur’s first wicket in ODI cricket, it was MS Dhoni who told Virat Kohli that he heard something and made a case for reviewing. Kohli, without wasting any time, went with MS Dhoni’s call and asked for a review. And, as a result, Dickwella was given out.

This is not the first time that MS Dhoni has done such a thing. He is the most reliable man when it comes to using DRS. Watch the video here:
