Shane Watson Takes A Cheeky Dig At His Own Teammates

Shane Watson Takes A Cheeky Dig: As the Indian Premier League is all set to kick off from tomorrow and fans simply cannot wait anymore to see their favourite players in action, Chennai Super Kings took a dig at trying to make them laugh in the heartiest way possible.

In an era where stadiums are going to be without any crowds and it is going to be a grim situation without the usual electrifying ambience of Indian Premier League, the franchises are trying to keep their fans enlivened through their social media handles as much as they can.

Chennai made headlines right after landing in UAE as twelve of their staff members including cricketers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar tested positive for the virus. To make it a double whammy for the team, they lost two of their best, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh to unknown reasons.

As we are all aware of the fact that Raina’s absence will hurt Chennai immensely because he occupied a lion’s share of Chennai’s runs, yet fans believe that Dhoni is a great enough leader to redress for it with the top-notch captaincy.

In the middle of all the consternation, Chennai Super Kings official Twitter handle posted a picture of all the players sitting in a different couch which were placed at a distance from each other, citing, “So close yet so far…”

To make it more hilarious, their champion batsman, Shane Watson tweeted, “Great chat boys!!!”

Chennai Super Kings will be starting their IPL campaign against the four-times winner, Mumbai Indians on Saturday in the grand IPL opener. Watson almost took away the final from Mumbai in the last edition of the fray as he stitched a brilliant 80 from just 59 balls before Malinga turned the game around on its head with a rock-solid final over.

Fans are waiting with bated breath to see two of their favourites, Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni going toe to toe with each other.
