IPL 2020: The Best XI Of Players That Are On Sidelines Of International Cricket

IPL 2020: The 2020 edition of the world’s biggest domestic T20 cricket league, the Indian Premier League is just a few weeks away as the entire cricket universe is gearing up for the thirteenth season of IPL. All the big names of the cricketing world will gather under one roof as they will try to entertain the fans with their cricketing skills. Over the years, IPL has served as a platform for younger cricketers to come and show their talent to the world.

Besides, this league has also helped multiple discarded players make their return to their national teams. There are always a bunch of cricketers who try their luck in the IPL and here is the best XI of some sidelined players who will take part in IPL 2020.

Openers – Parthiv Patel (wk) and Ambati Rayudu

The duo of wicket-keepers, Parthiv Patel and Ambati Rayudu will open the innings for this team. Patel has been away from the Indian limited-overs team for long while Rayudu had announced his retirement from international cricket last year. Both the batsmen have the capability to torment the bowlers right from ball one. Patel can find the gaps with his boundary scoring skills while Rayudu can take the aerial route if required. This left hand-right hand combo is the best choice to open the innings in IPL 2020

Middle Order – Suresh Raina (c), Ajinkya Rahane and Gurkeerat Mann

The middle-order of this XI in IPL 2020, will consist of three Indian discards namely Raina, Rahane and Gurkeerat. The left-handed batsman, Raina has been one of the most important members of Chennai Super Kings however, he has not been selected by the Indian team for long. Rahane is the vice-captain of the Indian Test team but his poor performance in white-ball cricket has kept him away from the international arena while Gurkeerat Mann could never big at the international level despite receiving a few opportunities.

All-rounders – Vijay Shankar and Axar Patel

The two all-rounders of this team will be the 2019 World Cup squad member Vijay Shankar and a member from the 2015 World Cup team, Axar Patel. Both the players were supposed to play the role of match winners for India in the World Cup however, none of them could. Shankar will ply his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad while Patel finds a new home in Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020.

Bowlers – Sunil Narine, Andrew Tye, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Harry Gurney

The franchises have not bought any of the discarded overseas batsmen owing to budget constraints this year, however, few of their bowlers have lost their place in the national team. Sunil Narine who has been one of the most versatile players for Kolkata Knight Riders has been out of the West Indies team for long while Andrew Tye lost his place because of his injuries and high economy rate. Mitchell McClenaghan is no longer a regular fixture for New Zealand while Gurney played his last international match in 2014.

All these players are supremely talented and will look to make a comeback to their international sides this year through the IPL.
