IPL 2020: 3 Teams That Have ‘Super Fast’ Bowling Attacks

IPL 2020: Fast bowling has become a new trend in world cricket. Even in the various T20 leagues around the globe, fast bowlers are in great demand for their ability to bowl with pace and fire. While it is conceded that batsmen have the upper hand in T20s, bowlers have found ways to have their even in just four overs of their spell.

As a result, the IPL franchises this season have focused a lot on strengthening their fast bowling lot. However, with the availability of only a few pacers in the auction, not each team could pick players of their choice to represent them in the next season.

Here, we take a look at 3 teams that have the most potent group of fast bowlers in their ranks for IPL 2020:

1.Mumbai Indians

Available Options: Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan, Lasith Malinga, Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Dhawal Kulkarni, Mohsin Khan, and Digvijay Deshmukh

The most settled squad among all the eight franchises in the league, Mumbai Indians have built a squad that has no apparent weakness. The ‘Men in Blue’, led by Jasprit Bumrah as their spearhead bowler in their team, have a good mix of experience and raw Indian talent in their group and they are the best fast bowling attack in IPL 2020.

In Lasith Malings, MI possessed the services of the most successful fast bowler in IPL history. With their mind-blowing trade just ahead of the auction, Mumbai has included even more quality by roping in Trent Boult into their squad. The presence of Mitchell McClenaghan and Nathan Coulter-Nile is a happy headache for any skipper to play any two pacers along with Bumrah in the playing XI.

Available Options: Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna, Harry Gurney, Lockie Ferguson, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and Sandeep Warrier

Kolkata Knight Riders made the most expensive bid in the recent IPL auction for Pat Cummins to include the Australian quick for an amount of INR 15.5 Crores. Cummins, who is expected to lead this young fast bowling lot, will be a major addition to KKR’s squad ahead of IPL 2020.

KKR will also be delighted upon the return of Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti as two genuine fast bowlers, who might be short on experience but have the ability to run through teams on their day. They also have the services of Lockie Ferguson and Prasidh Krishna, the two pacers who played the majority of the season in 2019.

On a surface in Eden Gardens that aids fast bowling, KKR has the bowling line-up that can bamboozle and opposition with their fierce pace and accuracy.

3.Royal Challengers Bangalore

A lot of RCB’s below-par performances in the last few IPL editions have been reasoned behind their inability to pick bowlers who can provide consistency on a smallish ground in Bengaluru. However, in this season, team management has done a relatively better job in buying players who have produced numbers in the T20 format.

The likes of Kane Richardson, Chris Morris, have played a large number of T20s to account for their effectiveness in this format. Bangalore will be backed up with the experience of Dale Steyn to complement Indian fast bowlers in the mix. The return to form for Umesh Yadav and regular appearances for Navdeep Saini for India in the T20Is will help their confidence a lot leading into the new IPL season.
