Sourav Ganguly Picks His Fantasy Cricket IPL Team: Another exciting season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just around the corner. Recently, all the franchises picked their best possible squads from the just-concluded auctions for the 2020 edition of the league.

All thanks to the Indian Premier League (IPL) we get to see many talented players – local and overseas – giving stellar performances on the India soil. So far, many talented cricketers like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, and many more, who have now made it big in the cricket world owe their careers to the Indian Premier League.

Recently, BCCI’s new president, Sourav Ganguly named his fantasy IPL team.

Well, during an event in Kolkata, Sourav Ganguly was asked to name his fantasy IPL team. BCCI’s president made many surprising choices while picking the squad.

As his opening partner, Sourav Ganguly picked Rohit Sharma and picked the devastating duo of Virat Kohli and David Warner to complete the top-order. Riyan Parag and Andre Russell were picked up as the all-rounder in Sourav Ganguly’s squad.

While Sourav Ganguly named Marcus Stoinis, Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah as his pacers, on the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja was the lone spinner. Talking about the role of wicket-keeper, Sourav Ganguly picked Rishabh Pant.

Yes, you read that right. Sourav Ganguly picked up Rishabh Pant over MS Dhoni. In fact, MS Dhoni isn’t there in his fantasy squad, where he himself is the captain of the team.

On being asked about the reason for not picking MS Dhoni in his squad, Sourav Ganguly said:

“It’s purely for fun, to entertain all. Pant is a young wicketkeeper-batsman. I don’t want any debate for it.”
