Rohit Sharma Is Heading Back To Mumbai

Rohit Sharma hasn’t played Test cricket from a very long time. And, he will have to wait more, it seems. Rohit, who was included in the squad for the ongoing Test series between Sri Lanka and India, hasn’t played so far as he wasn’t picked in both the matches.

Virat Kohli said in a press conference before the start of the series that India will prefer to play Hardik Pandya as he allows them to vary different batting and bowling combinations. Pandya is a very good all-rounder who can score some really quick runs lower down the order and bowl seam-up deliveries at any stage of the Test match.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared an official statement saying Rohit Sharma will head back to Mumbai for a scheduled medical check-up. It was also written that there is no medical or fitness issue and he will rejoin the squad tomorrow i.e. 4th August.

“The BCCI medical team confirms that batsman Mr. Rohit Sharma will undergo a scheduled medical check up, as a follow up after his recent surgery. There is no health or fitness concern and Mr. Rohit Sharma will fly to Mumbai later today i.e. August 3, 2017, and will rejoin the team tomorrow i.e. August 4, 2017,” BCCI said in an official statement.
