Ever since the inception of the Indian Premier League, we all have witnessed the teams spending a whopping amount of cash on overseas players. Yet again, during the IPL 2020 auctions, Royal Challengers Bangalore, the team who spends a hefty sum on their players, bought Chris Morris in a move that has took many fans by surprise.
Chris Morris, the South African all-rounder was snapped up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a mammoth of 10 Cr INR.
Rajasthan Royals initiated the bid for Chris Morris, however, the intense bidding war took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab and took the bidding price to 8 crores until Mumbai Indians came into the scene.
Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore, a tussle took place between both the franchises before Royal Challengers Bangalore eventually bought the cricketer for a whopping amount of 10 crores INR.
Ahead of 2020’s IPL Auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore had released as many as 12 players. With 6 overseas slots to fill, the franchise already had three overseas players in their team including AB de Villiers, Moeen Ali and Aaron Finch, before ChrisMorris joined RCB.
While Chris Morris is expected to be a great addition to RCB’s bowling unit, on the other hand, Twitterati are left disappointed with the move of buying Chris Morris at a whopping amount of INR 10 crores.
