It has been long since MS Dhoni, the cricketing legend has been away from international cricket. As soon as the world cup was over, he took a sabbatical from the game and kept on extending it, which added more fuel to the fire. The former skipper last played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup.
However, with the Indian Premier League just a few months away fans are excited to watch him in action again. But ahead of the new season, MS Dhoni is in news for a great reason.
MS Dhoni has reportedly conveyed to the management team of Chennai Super Kings that he wants to go back to the auction pool before IPL 2021. The decision of MS Dhoni is being looked at with the prospect of the franchise buying their captain at a lower price.
Talking to the Times of India, a CSK source revealed that Dhoni wanted to take part in IPL 2021, also ending his retirement rumors. The source said:
“He said he can go back to the auction pool. That will give CSK the option of using the right-to-match card to pick him, maybe for a lower price. Being the captain that he is, Dhoni is ready to sacrifice money for CSK.”
They added:
“We know what Dhoni means to us. We don’t want him to go back to the auction pool.”
