This Indian Cricket Stalwart Has Joined Zimbabwe Cricket

Former Indian cricketer, Lalchand Rajput has received a very good news. He has been chosen as the head coach for the Zimbabwe cricket team. Lalchand Rajput was declared as the head coach on Thursday by JDC. For your information, Lalchand Rajput is made the head coach replacing Hith Streak.

Zimbabwe has not been able to qualify for the World Cup 2019, because of which Hith Streak was removed from the position of the head coach. Not just this, members of other staff has been replaced along with Hith Streak.
Confirming the news, Lalchand Rajput said,
“It’s a very good cricket country. A lot of great players have come from there,” he added “I always feel that I like challenges. I was with Afghanistan and they made a turnaround and got Test status. When I was with Afghanistan we played against Zimbabwe and beat them in ODIs and T20s, so I know a few of their players.

I felt that it’s good for me as well as them to use my services so that I can make a difference to the team. I can’t change things overnight, but I can definitely prepare them to play better than what they have been performing. The main thing is consistency.”


For your information, we should tell you that Lalchand Rajput was the manager of the World Cup 2017 winning Indian squad. Last year, he was associated with the players of Assam.Apart from this, he has done coaching for Mumbai Indians in the past.




Now, training a National team and that too in a month, before the team plays against Australia and Pakistan in a T20 series, is a very tough challenge for him.
