Last night, we witnessed another nail biting match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians won the match beating Kings XI Punjab by 3 runs. We saw many great performances last night from the players like KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, who made everyone sit on the edge of their seats, throughout the match.

While there were many great moments in the match, there were a few disappointing moments as well. However, this one moment that we are going to talk about here is a very weird one as no one expects such mistakes to happen in matches like these.

Amidst the match, in the first innings when Mumbai Indians were playing their innings, two light towers blanked out and half of the venue was engulfed in darkness. Yes, you read that right. The players of both the teams were asked to go off-the field. It took nearly five minutes to fix the technical issue.
Luckily, the players didn’t had to wait for so long because of this issue and as soon as the lights were on back again, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard took the charge once again. However, social media went berserk after this hilarious mistake. People took to twitter and started trolling.
Here’s how twitterati reacted to this, have a look:

Such has been Mumbai’s run at home that even the light towers have decided to showup.

All these floodlight malfunctions remind me of those orange ball t20s in Pakistan where they had to switch off two towers every game coz the nearby public complained

Apparently Wankhede Staff did not pay their Reliance Electricity Bill and the Floodlights connection has been terminated. #MIvKXIP

The umps are back on the field while the floodlight towers have started illuminating. Expect resumption in 10 to 15 mins #MIvKXIP
