Andrew Tye Kissed His Armband And Cried After Winning The Purple Cap. Twitterati Can’t Stop Praising Him

Andrew Tye is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. In the ongoing eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2018), Tye has impressed one and all with his brilliant display of bowling and after the first innings of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday, he was the purple cap holder for taking the most number of wickets.

Tye took 4 wickets and broke the middle order of Rajasthan Royals. During the match, the fast bowler was seen wearing a black band on his arm and nobody could make out why until the first innings got over and he spoke to Graeme Smith while collecting his purple cap.

Andrew Tye told Smith that he wants to dedicate his performance and purple cap to his grandma who passed away this morning.

“It’s been a tough day. My Grandma passed away today and I would like to dedicate this performance to her,” said a teary-eyed Andrew Tye after claiming his purple cap.

Twitterati showed their love and respect for Andrew Tye for putting up such a good show on one of the most difficult days of his life. Check out some of the tweets:
