Gautam Gambhir Blames Virat Kohli’s Leadership For RCB’s Exit From IPL 2020

In an explosive statement made by two-time IPL champion, Gautam Gambhir, he claimed that RCB failed to go further than the eliminator because of a lack in leadership.

Kohli’s captaincy for Bangalore has previously been questioned too and once again in their eliminator tie that saw them being ousted by Hyderabad, Kohli’s decision-making was put under the sword.

Gambhir went all guns blazing when he said that RCB never deserved to qualify for the play-offs. Going by the last 4 or 5 games, RCB showed signs of rust and even when they made it to the play-offs, it was touch and go.

Gambhir heaped praises on Navdeep Saini’s brilliant super over that saw them coming up trumps over Mumbai Indians.

According to Gambhir, there was no improvement in the batting and bowling perspective. In fact, he said that the bowling looked better because RCB was not playing at Chinnaswamy and that ground is graveyard for bowlers. The bowlers managed to come up in better incarnations of themselves considering the fact that tbe surface was pretty hard to bat on and the boundaries were massive.

Gambhir nodded his agreement with Sanjay Manjrekar as he said that bowlers like Saini and Siraj defending 19 runs in the last two overs was never a plausibility for RCB to win.

Without naming anyone individually, Gautam Gambhir claimed that there are a lot of problems plaguing the outfit and it starts with the management, surges through the leadership and then fizzles out in the players.

Gambhir was vocal about the fact that if the leadership is not accountable, this poor show will persist. Eight years in the tournament and not even for a single time RCB touched that trophy.

He concluded by saying that every single RCB changes their coach without even addressing the proper problem and hence the vortex of entropy continues.
