Kolkata Knight Riders hosted the last night’s match at Eden Gardens that was against Delhi Daredevils and unlike last time, the fans of KKR didn’t returned disappointed. Kolkata Knight Reiders won the match beating Delhi Daredevils with a huge difference of 71 runs.
Before the match started, Gautam Gambhir, the skipper of DD won the toss and choose to bowl first, however this decision sort of back fired on the team as Kolkata Knight Riders scored a target of 200 runs to DD to chase.
In the first innings, Chris Lynn opened the match and scored 31 runs off 29 balls. Sunil Narine dismissed early after scoring only 1 run and that too in 4 balls. Nitish Rana gave an exceptional performance last night by scoring 59 runs in 35 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Last night, Andre Russell, the star player of KKR gave one jaw dropping performance by scoring 41 runs in 12 balls only, including 6 sixes. While the captain, Dinesh Karthik scored 19 runs in 10 balls.
In the second innings, Gautam Gambhir scored only 8 runs in 7 balls, including 1 four. The only two players who scored good numbers were Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell. Rishabh scored 43 runs in 26 balls with the strike rate of 165. He smashed 7 fours and 1 six. Maxwell, scored 47 runs in 22 balls with the strike rate of 213. He smashed 3 fours and 4 sixes.
It wasn’t just the batting of KKR, but also the team gave an exceptional bowling and fielding performance and didn’t let the team score much points. DD lost the game very severely.

It’s a good learning curve this @IPL for young @ItsShubmanGill. A step forward after India U19 success finds an opportunity amongst the big boys @KKRiders and on a massive stage in world cricket.
