Chennai Super Kings made it’s comeback with this season of Indian Premier League after 2 year long ban. And what a comeback, the team won the two consecutive matches one after the other.
The first match was against the Mumbai Indians. The players of Chennai Super Kings delivered a great performance in the opening match of this season and won the match against Mumbai Indians.
The second match was against Kolkata Knight Riders. The match was held at the Chepauk Stadium, at the homeground after three years. The complete stadium was jam packed by the fans of MS Dhoni, all in yellow supporting their favorite player.The team also made sure not to disappoint their fans and won the match by 5 wickets.
Every player gave their best to make their team win the match including Suresh Raina.
Suresh Raina is one of the most talented and loved cricketers of India. In that match Suresh Raina contributed a lot to the win of the team.
When Kolkata Knight Riders were batting, Sunil Narine had just started smashing sixes, he scored 12 runs in 4 balls including two sixes, Suresh Raina took an outstanding catch and dismissed Narine.
After Sunil Narine, it was Robin Uthappa who was in his great form. Uthappa had already hit 3 sixes and 2 fours, when Suresh Raina dismissed him with his jaw dropping fielding skills.
However,Suresh Raina got dismissed early soon after smashing a big 6, he only score 14 runs in 12 balls because of the injury he sustained. He struggled to run between the wickets before eventually going back to the pavilion.
After Kedar Jhadav’s injury, Suresh Raina has given another shock to the team. According to some reports, he will need atleast 10 days to recover from the injury.
During these 10 days, there are 2 matches lines up for Chennai Super Kings with Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab respectively. Thus, this has made it very difficult for captain MS Dhoni to find a better replacement for Suresh Raina.
And the most likely player to replace Suresh Raina will be Dhruv Shorey for the next couple of matches. He gave a very impressive performance in the Domestic season.
