Chennai Super Kings played their first match in the home game of the 11th edition of Indian Premier League. And yet again they won the match after delivering a stunning performance.
First Chennai Super Kings won the opening match after their thrilling performance and in the just concluded match as well, CSK won the match against KKR by 5 wickets. As CSK was playing in the home city, the stadium was filled with a huge crowd and a sea of yellow can be seen supporting MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.
The match was very interesting and excited one but however, something happened amidst the first innings which shocked everyone. Some people ended up bringing tension and a moment of shock for everyone.
According to some sources, a case of shoe flinging was witnessed in the stadium. However, the issue was a political one and not sports one. For those who are not aware, we bring you a little background of what happened.
The state, Tamil Nadu have been facing problems and disputes with the neighboring state Karnataka.The dispute is because of the sharing of the river water of the river Cauvery. The protesters in Tamil Nadu are very disappointed by the way the central government has been favoring their neighboring state Karnataka in the issue.
Thus, the protesters had decided and even threatened to the people for boycotting all the matches of Chennai Super Kings. Also, many celebrities and political parties have also been telling people to avoid all the home matches of CSK.
Even during the first innings when KKR was batting, many protesters were seen carrying the red flag to mark their protesters but what happened next angered everyone present at the ground.
These protesters flung shoes at the cricketers from the F Upper stand at the venue to the ground. One of the shoes hurdled upto the ground near Ravindra Jadeja , who was present at the border doing fielding at that time.
Also, Faf Du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi were very near when the shoe flung to the ground.
However, the police got the caught of those culprits and arrested them instantly.
