The players of Chennai Super Kings delivered a great performance last night in the opening match of the 11th season of Indian Premier League and won the match against Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings both of the teams are the most favorite teams of everyone in the IPL and it was an eye treat for the fans to watch them lock horns with each other.
Chennai Super Kings, super win against Mumbai Indians was stunning in every way. However, initially it was getting tough for CSK to chase the runs as MI gave the target of 165 runs to CSK and the two big wickets were already taken by the young bowler of Mumbai Indians, Mayank Markande.
But the best thing about our Indian Premier League and this sport is, anything can happen at any moment, the tables can turn upside down at any moment. And this is exactly what happened when Dwayne Bravo entered the ground.
Bravo changed the whole scenario and gave a fabulous performance. Bravo pulled off 68 runs in just 30 balls which included 3 fours and 7 sixes.
In the last over, Chennai Super Kings only needed 7 runs, and it was Kedar Jhadav who took the responsibility on his own shoulders and helped his team to cross that line too with a stunning six and a four. And with that Chennai Super Kings won the first match of IPL.
Although, the star performer Kedar Jhadav got injured in the first innings and inspite of that he delivered a match winning performance.
However, he might not play for the upcoming matches , talking about his injury Kedar Jhadav said:
“I might not play for the next couple of weeks. I could not run and I told Immy (Imran Tahir) I will take all six balls (in the final over). With six balls and seven runs, they were bowling same lengths and I just needed a big hit,”
Although nothing has been finalized yet, and the management is hoping for the best. Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, said:
“The team landed in Chennai on Sunday evening. We will know for how long Jadhav is out only after getting the scan results. We will put up an update on the same on Monday,”
With Jhadav not playing in the upcoming matches, the team will have to make many changes in the playing 11 format. Either Murali Vijay or Faf du Plessis will open the batting with Shane Watson and the team is likely to push Ambati Rayadu down the line.
We really wish that Kedar Jhadav gets well soon and comes back to play for CSK.
