The IPL auctions 2018 like every time had a lot of surprises in store to be unleashed. As the franchises went full throttle to refabricate their teams all over again, we got to witness some spectacular purchases.

The highest bid of 2018 saw Ben Stokes going to Rajasthan Royals for 12.5 crores and then Rajasthan also bought the most expensive Indian player in the auctions, Jaydev Unadkat for 11.5 crores.

But besides these spectacular purchases the IPL auctions also some greatest international players either going unsold or for undervalued prices. But some players got more than what they expected and these form the list of players who went overpriced in the IPL auctions.

Well, he’s surely a great talent but when Mitchel Starc gets sold for 9.4 crores and Unadkat takes 11.5 crores then we have no option but to call him overpriced. Jaydev Unadkat’s purchase is the most expensive one among Indian players going into the auction.  He ended up bagging a price even Higher than what Jasprit Bumrah got for his retention.

Still in the initial stage of his career and a grooming batsman. He’d be really happy to have gone for 11 crores while the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir and many better batsman went for modest prices.

The uncapped English player bagged 36 times more than his base price. Archer, the BBL star went for Rs 7.2 crores to the Rajasthan Royals. The 22-year-old certainly went over the top in terms of his IPL paycheque.

While Dhawan went for 5.2 crores, Rahane for 4 crores, Sanju Samson went for a whopping 8 crores to the Rajasthan Royals. He was surely going to be a hot buy given he is a wicket-keeper batsman but then 8 crores, the price he went for is certainly hyped.
