IPL 2017: 5 Best Bowling Figures In The Tournament So Far

IPL 2017 has seen some brilliant fireworks and really lived up to the flagship tenth anniversary event. Superb batting along with some excellent bowling have seen fans throng stadiums by the numbers.  Despite T20 being pegged as a batsman-friendly format, the bowlers have really stood up to the test.

Displaying some excellent guile and skill to throw their names into the running, these bowlers have managed to make the most of the 24 balls that they are provided and returned with some stunning figures. Here are five of the best bowling figures (so far) in IPL 2017:

5. Chris Morris (4-0-26-4):

Kicking things off is Chris Morris of the Delhi Daredevils. Having contributed with the bat also, Morris showed tremendous mettle in the match against a batsmen-friendly Sunrisers Hyderabad team to record four wickets against them. Though not enough to win them the game, Morris’ efforts managed to restrict SRH within 200 in the first innings.

4. Sandeep Sharma (4-0-20-4):

The KXIP pace bowler was the destructor in chief against a sorry Delhi Daredevils side, claiming 4 big scalps to restrict them to a paltry 67 runs. The effort also helped Punjab boost their net run rate in the process.

3. Samuel Badree (4-1-9-4):

The West Indian secured the second hat-trick of IPL 2017 against the Mumbai Indians, just a few hours after AJ Tye had done the same for the Gujarat Lions. Badree’s efforts were in vain though, as RCB’s target of 142 was comfortably chased down by MI.

2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4-0-19-5):

Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is alsso the current purple cap holder for most number of wickets ripped through the Kings XI lineup with 5 superb wickets and set up the win for SRH in a match that was tightly contested.

1. AJ Tye (4-0-17-5) vs RPS:

The hat-trick that really shook the IPL, AJ Tye of the Gujarat Lions ended up with five wickets following his 4 over spell for the Gujarat Lions versus the Rising Pune Supergiant. At an economy of just 4.25, Tye managed to swing the game completely towards the Lions, helping the win the game by a a big margin. It was one of the best spells in history of Indian Premier League.
