Aniket Choudhary was one of the most interesting picks of Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2017. Among the five bowlers that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bought at the IPL auction 2017, Rajasthan’s fast-bowler Aniket Choudhary stood out from the rest. The fast bowler was picked by RCB for Rs 2 crore and this proved that hard work at the domestic level doesn’t go unnoticed. Choudhary is a left-arm fast bowler and he was recently in the news for picking 4 wickets in a warm up game against Bangladesh. Aniket has taken 124 wickets in 39 first-class matches for Rajasthan at an impressive average of 27.44 with 5 five-wicket hauls.

After he was picked by RCB in IPL auction 2017, Aniket spoke to Sportskeeda and revealed what he was doing when he got the news of his selection.

“I was bowling to Virat Kohli in the nets when the Indian team manager came and informed me that I was brought by RCB for 2 crore. Fast bowling ki poori thakaan utar gayi yeh news se (the tiredness of fast bowling went away with the news),” Aniket Choudhary told Sportskeeda.

Choudhary said that he was hopeful of being a part of the IPL this season but he had no expectations of being sold at a price anywhere near Rs 2 crore.

“I had no expectations of being sold at a price anywhere even close to 2cr. But I was hopeful of being a part of the IPL this year. I wanted to play for RCB and they signed me so I am very happy.”

When asked about England’s T20 specialist Tymal Mills, who was also picked by RCB at the player auction 2017, Choudhary said that he is looking forward to learning from him.

“Tymal Mills has a lot of experience. He is a left-arm fast bowler and a T20 specialist, so I will get to learn a lot from him.”
