Did Ashish Nehra really say Yorkers are overrated in T20 cricket?

Former Indian pace bowler Ashish Nehra achieved much success on the cricket field with his marvelous left-arm bowling skills. He holds the record for the best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in ODI World Cups. Also, he was a part of the 2011 Indian World Cup squad that became the first team to win the World Cup on home soil.
Because of his brilliance, Nehra got an opportunity to play for multiple teams in the IPL. He returned to the Indian T20I team after impressing for Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. He was included in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 team, while he retired on a grand note with a farewell T20 game on his home ground.
After retirement, Nehra tried his luck in coaching. Royal Challengers Bangalore appointed him as the bowling coach of their franchise. Unfortunately, the team’s bowling unit could not trouble the opposition batsmen much. Thus, the franchise removed Nehra from his position as the bowling coach ahead of IPL 2020.
The former Pune Warriors India player is now a part of the Hindi commentary panel. During last night’s match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad, T Natarajan bowled a magnificent spell, where his six yorkers did not allow the Delhi batsmen to attack him. Australian legend Brett Lee lauded him for his technique that allowed him to keep a check on the runs flow.
Some fans have claimed Ashish Nehra commented on air that yorkers were overrated in T20 cricket. In his view, it all depended on the batsman’s skills. Since millions of fans watch IPL on Star Sports 1 Hindi, they heard Nehra’s comments and had the following reactions to it. Some mentioned Nehra said bowlers should stop overrating yorkers.

Thus, these were some takes to Ashish Nehra’s comment. IPL 2020 continues tonight with a match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Dubai International Stadium.
