After nudging the delivery from Mohammad Rafique, MS Dhoni set off a non-existent single. However, he was sent back by Mohammad Kaif. Unfortunately, MS Dhoni lost his flow and was dismissed.
4. Dhoni Getting Run-Out On 99 Against England:
In 2012, during the 4th Test of England’s tour of India, MS Dhoni once again became a victim of a heartbreaking dismissal. MS Dhoni amassed 99 runs off 246 balls. As the wicket-keeper batsman was inching closer to the century, he was sent back to the pavilion by Alastair Cook.
3. Dhoni getting run-out during the 2015 World Cup semi-final:
Team India emerged out as the defending champions during the 2015 World Cup. This run-out came during the finals, where they faced the Australian cricket team.
During the match, the Australian cricket team posted a score of 328 runs at the scoreboard. Team India started off well, but the team lost the wickets of Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan soon. Their wickets were followed by the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma. The responsibility to take India to the winning side fell on the shoulders of MS Dhoni.
However, MS Dhoni’s stint was cut short to 65 runs after a stunning throw from Glenn Maxwell.
2. MS Dhoni’s Controversial Run-Out In 2019 IPL Final:
A nail-biting thriller between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians was witnessed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. During the CSK’s innings, the fans saw not one but two run-outs. While Shane Watson was dismissed by a stunning throw from Krunal Pandya, on the other hand, MS Dhoni fell inches short of his ground as he made a cheeky attempt to earn an extra run-out on an overthrow. As a result, Mumbai Indians lifted their fourth trophy.
