3 Big-Hitters Who Haven’t Scored A Fifty In T20I Cricket

Often, we feel that those batsmen who can hammer the ball right from ball one might be the leading run-scorer for their nation in T20s. Explosive batsmen who can slam big shots right from the start are the ones that end up smashing centuries in T20 cricket.

However, the fact may not be right every time as three such explosive batsmen are yet to smash their maiden T20 half-century for their international side. These players have achieved an incredible amount of success in other formats and also the T20 leagues. This article features the list of those three stars which are as follows:

Andre Russell

Big-hitting West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell has been a top-class batsman when it comes to the 20-20 format. He can launch the ball into the stands with his raw power. We had already witnessed many of his thunderstorms in Indian Premier League 2019, where he won matches for his team from an improbable situation.

One of the most shocking facts about him is that he has just smashed 540 runs so far from 49 T20I matches. The strike rate of 151.26 showcases his explosive batting nature, but he hasn’t recorded a single half-century for his team. The main reason is that he bats lower down the order.

Chris Lynn

Australia opener Chris Lynn also features in this list as he hasn’t smashed an international T20 half-century so far in the 14 matches that he has played. The star has scored 291 runs at a breath-taking strike rate of 131.67, but his high score has only been 44 runs.

Lynn recently shook the cricketing fraternity by playing an inning of 91 runs from just 30 balls during the Abu Dhabi T10 league. However, he is yet to register his first international T20 half-century.

Ben Stokes

The English all-rounder who turned the ICC World Cup 2019 final’s result in his team’s favor through his match-winning inning is yet to showcase his talent in T20 format fully. Ben Stokes has so far played 26 T20 internationals where he has aggregated 305 runs with a thunderous strike rate of 134.36 and a below-par average of 17.94 runs.

Stokes can prove to be the cornerstone of his side in the shortest format of the game with his all-around skills.

All these three batsmen have had a very high profile cricketing career so far. It’s just a matter of time for all three cricketers before they smash their first international T20 half-century. Once they get going, it would nearly be impossible for the bowlers to stop them.
