IPL 2020: After a long wait of almost 6 months, the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League kickstarted with a bang with an opening clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. It was more like an eye treat for the fans to watch their favorite cricketers return back to the field.
However, leading cricketers from both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have been slammed for their ‘healthy waistlines’ that became the topic of discussion during the opening match of IPL 2020 in Abu Dhabi.
Many players including the likes of Rohit Sharma, Piyush Chawla were returning to cricket for the first time after the sport was put on hold amid the outspread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
There were many who expressed surprise in seeing top cricketers including the skipper of Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma, batsman Saurabh Tiwary and Chennai spinner Piyush Chawla sporting a post-lockdown paunch. People on social media started trolling these cricketers by calling Indian Premier League as the Indian Paunch League.
Infact, a famous Indian hockey player, Viren Rasquinha took to his social media and expressed his shock on seeing the Indian players so unfit. He wrote:
“I have never played more than gully cricket but I am pretty shocked to see some players in the #IPL2020 looking so unfit. I can’t think of another physical sport where players at the highest level could cope with these fitness levels,”

Rohit Sharma can’t run between wickets because he’s fat af.
CSK players can’t run in field because they’re old af.
So Rohit is dealing only in boundaries.
