Scoring a hundred at the highest level is one of the toughest tasks for a batsman. However, there have been a few batsmen who have scored a hundred but the team has not gone onto win the match. It is the most dreadful feeling for a batsman to score a century in a losing cause for the team. Even in Indian cricket, there have been a few players who have never scored an ODI century in a winning cause for the team.

Here’s a look at 5 Indian batsmen whose centuries in ODIs have resulted in an India loss:

Raman Lamba

Former Indian batsman, Raman Lamba represented India in 32 ODIs and four Tests in a career that lasted nearly three years. Playing majorly as a batsman, Lamba scored 783 runs in ODI cricket at an impressive of average 67.15. His solitary century for India came in a losing cause.

Sanjay Manjrekar

Former Indian batsman, Sanjay Manjrekar also finds a place in this unwanted list. Playing 74 ODIs for India during the early 90s, Manjrekar scored 1994 ODI runs at an average of 33.23. He also registered the only century in his ODI career and that too in a losing cause for the Indian team.

Dilip Vengsarkar

Dilip Vengsarkar, one of India’s solid Test players of his time, could manage to play 129 one-day internationals for India. His ODI career for India wasn’t as fruitful as his Test stint as he scored 3508 runs at an average of 35.08. His only ODI century also came in a losing cause for the Indian team.

Robin Singh

However, his innings didn’t do any favor for his team as the Men in Blue ended up losing the game.
