Suresh Raina Joins Yuvraj Singh In Slamming The Selectors For Overlooking Senior Players

Not so long ago, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh created a stir with his statements, when he claimed that Team India is in dire need of better selectors in their panel. Yuvraj Singh had said that India needs such selectors who can back players in the longer run.

Former Chief selector of BCCI MSK Prasad and his led committee was often criticized for their outlook towards the sport. Yuvraj Singh had slammed their opinion and expressed how India needs a better selection committee.

Now, Indian cricketer, Suresh Raina has also joined Yuvraj Singh in slamming the selection committee for overlooking seniors.

Recently, in an interview with Aaj Tak, Suresh Raina lashed out at selectors saying that they should have been more responsible towards the senior players. He added how every player works hard, plays for the team and if they don’t get to play in the next match, then the selectors are supposed to inform them about the same. He said:

I think selectors should have taken more responsibility towards the senior players. No matter how big a player you are at the end of the day you always play for the team, you perform, you go home and if you don’t get to play the next morning, then you have to know the reason why I am not getting batting on the net. Tell me if I have any deficiency then I will work hard. Someone will have to tell where to work hard. If he does not know, then there will be a doubt in his mind somewhere. When the cause is not known, how he will improve,”

Suresh Raina, who suffered a major knee injury, had to undergo surgery and was out of the team for a year.  However, the cricketer has now fully recovered and is making full efforts to make his comeback in the national team. He said:

When you play Ranji Trophy no one comes there to watch the match. Then you wait for IPL because you get the chance to face world class bowlers. And if you are getting paid by the IPL franchise, then you have to perform in every game. Pressure is very high in IPL. T20 game is not easy is tough. There is not even time to think. If you get hurt during IPL, you don’t get recovery time.”
