After four hundred and thirty-six days, MS Dhoni finally returned back to the field. It was the first appearance of Dhoni, the former Indian skipper who recently announced his retirement from international cricket.

It was on 15th August when Dhoni left his fans heartbroken after he decided to hang his boots from international cricket. Thus, fans were anxiously waiting for the opening clash between MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians as they resumed their long-standing rivalry.
Before the match kickstarted, Dhoni was seen in a new look, that won over a zillion hearts as he walked out in the middle for the toss, flashing a stylish beard, exuding the same swagger and style. MS Dhoni, the captain cool made a wise move by choosing to field first after he won the toss.
Talking about the match, after restricting MI to 162 runs, Chennai Super Kings were in deep trouble as they faced a huge blow as they lost two wickets within two overs of their innings. However, Ambatti Rayudu’s calm and effortless performance and du Plessis’ calculative knock, helped CSK get closer to the target runs. Rahul Chahar broke the 115 run-stand by sending Rayudu back to the pavilion.

After Rayudu’s departure, Jadeja came in to bat at no. 5 for a quickfire 5-ball 10. Fans of MS Dhoni were left shellshocked when Sam Curran walked ahead of him. However, soon Dhoni walked to bat on-field. Though he finished the game as 0* fans were delighted with the return of MS Dhoni.
