Back in the early 2000s, there came a time when Indian cricket was going through its worst phase however, the entry of Sourav Ganguly as the captain of the Indian cricket team changed everything. From backing his players to restoring the faith of fans in cricket again, the contribution of Sourav Ganguly in Indian cricket can’t be expressed in words.

Fast forward to the present, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is going through the same situation and yet again Sourav Ganguly’s appointment as the president of BCCI comes as a refreshing change. Dada is all set to transform the image of BCCI. Talking to India Today, the former skipper said:

“Whether you are elected unopposed or otherwise, it’s a big responsibility because it is the biggest organization in the world of cricket. India is a powerhouse. It will be a challenge.”

Sourav Ganguly who will now be stepping into the shoes of the President of BCCI will have to demit his post of the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Talking about the same he said:

“That’s the rule. So we will have to deal with it. My first priority will be to look after first-class cricketers”.

Apart from restoring the shattered image of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly revealed that his main and foremost goal will be to take care of Ranji Trophy cricket and the cricketers’ financial interest, he revealed:

“I had requested the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and they have not listened. Ranji Trophy cricket will be the focus. To take care of cricketers’ financial interest.”

Ever since the news of Sourav Ganguly’s appointment as the president of BCCI has come out, Sourav Ganguly is trending on social media specially on Twitter. The hashtag “Dada Is Back” is trending on twitter ever since then.

It was @SGanguly99 who backed @YUVSTRONG12 and @virendersehwag during his captaincy and made India a force to reckon with. Now as @BCCI president he’s gonna take Indian cricket to a place even beyond 2000’s @CricketAus #DADAISBACK #Dada #dadagiri https://t.co/Z1CPKE2kGl
