The first test of ongoing South Africa’s tour of India in Visakhapatnam kickstarted with the powerful opening from India’s newest opening batsmen Rohit Sharma, who scored two centuries and in-process went on to break many records.
Rohit Sharma justified his role at the top order by becoming the first batsman to score over 300 runs in his first Test as an opener. Apart from this ‘Hitman’ smashed 13 sixes in a match and achieved the record for scoring most sixes in a single Test, surpassing the former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram.
His exceptional performance and all these records made Rohit Sharma the most deserving player for the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
