The 7.1 feet tall discarded fast bowler from Pakistan cricket team, Mohammad Irfan is making a lots of headlines however for all the wrong and controversial reasons. On Monday, he made some sharp comments on former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir.

In his statements, Mohammad Irfan stressed on the fact that Gautam Gambhir faced trouble in facing him during the 2012 bilateral series and thus it was him who ended Gautam Gambhir’s career.

Talking to Samaa TV, Mohammad Irfan claimed:

“When I played against India, they were not comfortable batting against me. Some of them told me in the 2012 series in India that they couldn’t sight my ball properly because of my height and also didn’t read my pace”

He added:

“He (Gambhir) didn’t like to face me in a match or when both teams had nets, I always felt he avoided eye to eye contact with me. I remember I got out him four times in 2012 limited over series and he was unnerved against me.”

Gautam Gambhir played his last T20 for India against Pakistan in that series and was seen playing in just one more ODI series against England before he was finally dropped from the team, however, his contribution to the Indian cricket team is huge and can’t be understated.

Not just on Gautam Gambhir, Mohammad Irfan went on to make comments on Indian skipper Virat Kohli and former cricketer Yuvraj Singh as well. He said:

“He told me he thought I would be around 130-135 kph but I had increased my pace and I was bowling around 145 kph and he had problems picking me up. Once when he was batting he tried to pull a good length ball and missed.”

“Yuvraj (Singh), who was at the other end told him in Punjabi. Don’t try to pull him, rather try to cut him. Off my third ball, he went for a pull and was caught behind. Yuvi Paji told him… now go back,” Mohammad Irfan recalled.

As soon as the comments of Mohammad Irfan came into limelight, fans of former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir flooded the twitter with hilarious memes and reactions roasting the discarded Pakistani player.
