The 46-day cricketing carnival came to an end on July 14th, with England cricket team winning their maiden World Cup by beating New Zealand, based on the maximum number of boundaries. The tournament was one of the most amazing tournaments, with many games turning out to be absolute thrillers.

This edition of World Cup also saw a witnessed a $10 million prize pot. While the winners were awarded $4,000,000 prize money, which is the highest prize money till now, the runner ups and other teams were also awarded whopping amounts.

10. Afghanistan:

Afghanistan’s cricket team had the worst tournament this year. They lost all the nine matches they played. Therefore, they only got $100,000 as their prize money.

Afghanistan won 2 of eight matches they played in the tournament. They received a sum of $180,000 as their prize money.

Bangladesh cricket team started the tournament brilliantly by defeating South Africa by 21 runs in the first match of the World Cup 2019. However, they took a while to win their second game. They won 3 of eight matches they played. They received a sum of $220,000 as their prize money.

South Africa also won 3 of eight matches they played. South Africa put up a very disappointing performance in this tournament. They received a sum of $220,000 as their prize money.

6. Sri Lanka:

Sri Lanka fought very hard in some of the games of World Cup 2019. They got two extra points because of the two washed out games against Pakistan and Bangladesh. They won 3 of 7 matches they played. They received a sum of $220,000 as their prize money.

Pakistan fought very hard until the very last game of their league which washed them out of the tournament. They won 5 of 8 matches they played. They received $100,000 for finishing fifth in the points table and another $200,000 for winning five games.

The runner ups of the World Cup 2019 played brilliantly till the very last ball. Despite ending up in the tie, they lost the Cup to England going by the number of boundaries. They won a sum of$2,200,000.

The winners of World Cup 2019. England won their maiden cup by beating New Zealand in the final. They received a sum of $4,240,000 as their prize money.

2. Australia:

Australian cricket players gave an unexpected performance and ended up at number third at the points table. They won 7 out of the 9 matches they played and received a sum of $1,080,000 as their prize money.

India was leading at the top of the tables, unfortunately, they lost the semi-finals against New Zealand and lost their only chance to win the Cup. They won 7 matches out of the 8 matches they played. They received a sum of $1,080,000 as their prize money.
