After losing out to the Proteas in the first two test matches of the series and hence the series, India has registered a historic win at Johannesburg as they defeated South Africa by 63 runs. Despite the series loss, this brings great joy for Virat Kohli and his men.
After giving South Africa a target of 241 to chase in the fourth innings, India seemed to have slipped the match from its hands after Hashim Amla and Dean Elgar stitched a solid partnership. Having lost Markram early South Africa lost its second wicket on 124 and then the fiasco started.

From being 124-1 to getting all out for 177, the South African batsman could not confront the brunt of the Indian pacers who were bowling fiery spells at the Proteas. Indeed India has played the third test like the top team in the ICC rankings.
SHAMI THE STAR

After Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets in the first innings, it was Shami’s turn to pick 5 in the second innings. Mohammad Shami bowled beautifully for his 5 wicket haul while Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah ended with 2 wickets each. Bhuvneshwar Kumar could only manage one wicket.
DEAN ELGAR’s BRAVE INNINGS WENT IN VAIN

The opener stood his ground firmly as wickets tumbled from the other end. Elgar remained unbeaten on 86 having faced more than 200 deliveries. Dean Elgar’s heroics were not enough for South Africa as the hosts were bowled out for 177 and India earned itself a rejuvenating victory.
TWITTER ERUPTS IN JOY
Virat Kohli and his men had to take the wrath of Twitter for having lost the first two matches as well as the series but today after Indian won, Twitter was all about heaping praises on team India and celebrating India’s victory. This comes as a great boost for team India ahead of the limited overs fixtures with South Africa.

I like the new rule of allowing a substitute to keep wickets. Dinesh Karthik behind the wickets for India.

As true lovers of the game, let’s also take a moment and applaud the grit and determination displayed by Dean Elgar. He waged a lone battle as the Indian pacers were too good for rest of the South African side
