India’s chance of winning the test series in South Africa dashed as India lost by 135 runs to the Proteas in the second test. The result of the Centurion Test turned out to be no different from the Cape Town Test as the batsmen once again let the side down.
In the second innings India was all out for just 151 with Rohit Sharma top scoring with an innings of 47. The debutant Lungi Ngidi unleashed a havoc on the Indian batting line up in the second innings and took 6 wickets to destroy the Indian batting line up.
Ngidi’s heroics with the ball and some spectacular catches by South African fielders saw South Africa winning the series with one test still to be played.

As Virat Kohli and his men lost the match and the series, Twitter has all sorts of reactions for team India. These reactions range from supporting the team in their bad times to trolling them for the loss.
With this series loss, India’s streak of 9 series win has finally been broken by South Africa and you got to say that they outdid India in all departments of the game. India did put up a fight in the first innings with the captain playing a staggering knock of 153 but in the second innings no Indian batsman could go past 50.
The pacers did well even at Centurion but the loss is the courtesy of the batsmen yet again just like it was the case at Cape Town. From dropping catches to throwing away wickets, India has made a lot of mistakes in the second test which eventually cost them the match. India would only want to learn from these mistakes.
For his clinical performance with the ball, Lungi Ngidi was adjudged the Man Of Match. In what turned out to be a dream debut for the 21 year old, Ngidi picked up 7 wickets in the game, 6 of which came in the second innings.
Here’s How Twitter Reacted to India’s loss:
Intent is good. Getting out early and ending up in tent, where you can only watch and not score runs, not so much so. #SAvIND

Fair to say AB De Villiers is loving playing in whites for South Africa. Forget what happens in the 3rd test, he has been the man of the series #SAvIND

Waiting for Virat Kohli to handover the test captainship to Ajinkya Rahane as soon as possible.

Ngidi and Rabada are also going to terrorise a lot of batsmen across the cricketing landscape. This could be a fearsome pair if both of the remain fit #SAvIND

India is playing like ‘Sri Lanka who plays against India in India’ in South Africa. #IndvSA #SAvsIND

The only problem with Virat Kohli that he is going to win a test match with specialist ODI players and specialist test players are sitting on the bench.#INDvSA

About Hardik Pandya, it will often be said: “but that’s the way he plays”. And it can’t be said that India are going down without intent.

To their credit, India have managed to take the pitch out of the equation today #SAvInd
