BCCI CONTENDED WITH PATHAN’S EXPLANATION
The BCCI seems quite satisfied with the justification given by Yusuf Pathan. The board secretary took a note of the justification and confirmed that this substance is often found in most of the cough syrups. The secretary also revealed that the suspension period was in effect from August and will stay till the midnight of January 14.
After seeking expert advise the BCCI accepted the justification furnished by Yusuf Pathan and on the basis of that stated that the five-month period of ineligibility shall apply along with the disqualification of some results.
The official statement of the BCCI concluded:
“The 5 month ineligibility period will deem to have started from August 15 and end at midnight of January 14, 2018.”
Yusuf Pathan would be eyeing big in the IPL auctions that would soon get underway. Getting rid of his suspension before the Indian Premier League starts would be a big relief for the all-rounder. Pathan has not been retained by KKR for the next season.
