To have 300 test wickets to your name is a special feeling for any bowler. No matter how successful a cricketer becomes in the limited format, he would always want to take big strides in his test career.

Test cricket is the purest form of cricket even after the shorter versions have hijacked the cricketing entertainment.

A triple century of test wickets would make any bowler feel very proud of him. Among the bowlers who are the fastest to reach 300 test wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin is on top of the list having scalped 300 test wickets in 54 matches.

Ravi Chandran Ashwin got to 300 test wickets last year only against Sri Lanka and went passed Denis Lillee, the former Australian bowler who reached the milestone in 56 matches.

The legendary Sri Lankan bowler, Muthiah Muralitharan is third on the list. Muthiah Muralitharan reached 300 test wickets in 58 games. The list also includes South African pace sensation, Dale Steyn who took 61 Test matches to kiss the milestone. Steyn is 6th on the list followed by the Aussie legend, Shane Warne.

Clearly, Ravichandran Ashwin has surpassed the greatest legends of the game to claim the top spot and he deserves also the credit for going past such cricketing greats.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the only Indian to be present on the list of fastest 10 bowlers to get to 300 test wickets. Glenn McGrath reached the triple century of test wickets in 64 test matches and is 9th on the list.
