Recently we saw the cricket fraternity divided into two sides. On one hand was those who felt that MS Dhoni should step down from limited overs format especially T20s . On the other hand, were those who supported Dhoni and batting for his indispensable presence in the limited overs format.

Recently Ravi Shastri, head coach of the Indian team and MSK Prasad batted for Dhoni’s place in the limited overs format and reiterated the fact that there’s seemingly no replacement for MS Dhoni not just in Indian but even at the world level.

Rohit Sharma, the stunning Indian opener who enjoyed a small stint of captaincy against Sri Lanka too batted for Dhoni’s presence in the limited overs format. In the T20 series too Rohit who was the stand in captain, promoted Dhoni above the order and extended to him the liberty to play his natural game.

Speaking of Dhoni’s presence in the Indian team for limited overs, Rohit said that he’s rather shocked that despite Dhoni’s performances in the past this question is still being raised.

Speaking of the 2019 World Cup, Rohit said that the World Cup is too far and the focus should rather be on what is happening now. Rohit backed MS Dhoni’s place citing Dhoni’s recent performances in the limited overs format.
MS Dhoni is irreplaceable

Rohit has become a valuable addition team after Ravi Shashtri and MSK Prasad batted for MS Dhoni. Dhoni has been sensational both with the bat and gloves in the limited opportunity he has had and this statement from Rohit Sharma would pacify Dhoni fans for sure.

Given the flexibility and athleticism Dhoni portrays even at the age of 36 and on top of all, his performance slams critics more than anyone’s defence for Dhoni. MS Dhoni is certainly the best wicketkeeper batsman in limited overs cricket and we don’t see India playing the 2019 World Cup without MS Dhoni.
