Yesterday in the first T20 against Sri Lanka Dhoni yet again proved why he’s the boss. After contributing heavily with the bat with a great knock of 39 from 22 balls he the did the rest with his gloves. Dhoni has now surpassed AB De Villiers in the tally of most dismissals by a fielder in T20 cricket.
Dhoni now has 74 dismissals to his name in 84 T20s which is a unique record for the taking. These dismissals include 47 catches and 27 stumping dismissals. AB De Villiers has 72 dismissals in 78 matches while Kamran Akmal is third on the list with 60 dismissals. But Kamran Akmal has 32 stumping dismissals which is more than the stumping dismissals of MS Dhoni.
Dhoni’s lightening quick reflexes are making everyone stunned. Those who questioned the place of MS Dhoni in the T20 side are now heaping praises for him. India thrashed Sri Lanka in the first T20 and continued the winning momentum as being carried from the ODI series.
This victory at Cuttack was India’s biggest victory in T20s till date. India would look to win the series and give Sri Lanka a clean sweep before the South African tour.
