Yuvraj Singh needs no introduction, the name speaks for itself. We all know what he’s capable of and how he has added so much to Team India’s fortunes during his career. But the glorious cricketing career of his is now seemingly on the verge of a sad ending.

Selection Committee Reveals Why Yuvraj Singh Is Being Ignored From The Side

There are various speculations about Yuvraj Singh being ignored by the selection committee since the Champions Trophy. The chief selector, MSK Prasad came out and stated that Yuvraj Singh has fitness issues hence he wasn’t given a berth in the Indian squad that will play Sri Lanka for the 3 T20s and then the tests in South Africa. There were reports of Yuvi failing the Yo Yo Test several times and this was confirmed in what MSK Prasad talked about.

Talking about Yuvraj during a press conference, MSK Prasad said, “Yuvraj Singh has fitness issues and he has not played a lot of competitive cricket lately.

Before this, failing the Yo Yo Test thrice was something that Yuvraj himself admitted to. Yuvraj has said it in the past that he sees himself playing till 2019 and then is when he will decide to take a call. He also said that he’s pushing hard each day to make a comeback.

India has Number 4 woes

India’s problem in limited formats has been that they’ve still not been able to decide upon a number 4 batsman. Manish Pandey and Kedhar Yadhav have got their chances but not that they made the most of it.

In recent times Hardik Pandya too was seen batting at number 4 hunting at the fact that Kohli can’t decide his permanent number 4 batsman keeping 2019 World Cup in sight. This makes things quite favourable for Yuvi’s comeback provided Yuvi clears the hurdles of fitness.
