As Virat Kohli lashed out at the BCCI for poor scheduling and not giving the team enough time to prepare for testing times in South Africa, many former Indian cricketers stood by Virat Kohli’s statement.

As a result of Kohli’s outburst on the board for scheduling of fixtures, the board gave Virat Kohli the much-needed rest in the upcoming ODI series with Sri Lanka. Now Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

But Dean Jones does not agree with the idea of Indian players asking for rest. Dean Jones made a statement that would surely sting the Indian players a bit. Dean Jones said that the Indian players should not demand rest and should keep playing when doing well as they get paid in millions to play for India.

Dean Jones Makes An Offensive Statement Against Virat Kohli

India’s tour of South Africa will commence from January 5 at Cape Town as the first test begins this day. Before that India has on test left to play with Sri Lanka and then an ODI and T20 series with the Lankans and then immediately India would advance for South Africa.

Given this really hectic scheduling and not getting enough match practice before taking on the Proteas, Kohli had expressed anguish over the manner in which the scheduling of fixtures has been done. Before the test series against Sri Lanka started, Hardik Pandya too demanded rest and skipped playing the test series with Sri Lanka.

Now Kohli too has been rested for the ODI series and hence Dean Jones took a dig at demands of rest by Indian players. Dean Jones said, ‘When in form and you are playing well, the season is not long enough. You just want to keep playing.” He further added that if guys are getting millions of dollar in a year then they need to keep playing.
