VIDEO: South Africa’s Dressing Room Was Stunned After Dean Elgar’s Dismissal On 199

One of the bright spots for South Africa over the past year has been the rise of Dean Elgar as a good opening batsman.

The left-hander has been in good form and continued to hit the big runs in the recent match against the Bangladeshis. Playing at South Africa, the Bangladeshis won the toss and decided to put the Proteas to bat on a wicket that looked good for batting.

The South Africans ensured that Mushfiqur Rahim would pay for his mistake as the opening pair of Makram, the debutant and Elgar smashed their bowlers all over.

False shot:

As the debutant neared his century, he was run out sadly just three runs short. It was Elgar’s fault and he seemed determined to make up for his mistake. He followed the mistake by hitting some big boundaries and continued to build his innings.

When he finally reached 199, it seemed normal that he would go on and complete the century, as he was batting easily.

However, he played a ridiculous pull shot to a delivery that was outside off stump. The ball got the top edge and flew high in the air before being easily caught by the fielder at short mid-off. The dressing room watched in disappointment as a dejected Elgar walked back to the pavilion just one run short of a double century that he well and truly deserved.
