GIF: This Is What Harmanpreet Kaur Did To Australian Bowlers Last Night

Last night belonged to India, and specially Harmanpreet Kaur. Kaur came in to bat at number 4 and scored 171 unbeaten runs off just 115 balls against Australia in the semi-final of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.

Harmanpreet batted like never before and totally ripped apart the Australian bowling attack, which is said to be the best in the world.  Harmanpreet made Aussie bowlers look helpless as as she smashed them all around the park with utmost ease and grace.

Harmanpreet smashed 7 sixes and 20 boundaries in her marathon innings and made Australia’s good bowling attack look ordinary. She took some time to get going initially, but once she reached her fifty, she didn’t hold back one bit and displayed a batting masterclass at Derby cricket stadium in England.

Before this innings, Harmanpreet Kaur, who is the only Indian cricketer to participate in Australia’s Big Bash League, was struggling to find her form. But, she chose the big day to come back to form and play one of the most memorable innings in ODI cricket history.

Talking about her record-breaking innings, the dashing batter from Moga said: “I didn’t get a chance to bat in the whole tournament, Today when I got the chance I just wanted to utilise it, this opportunity, because today was the day where I wanted to prove myself, and thanks to God, whatever I was thinking worked. Mithali and Deepti batted really well and Veda too scored really well.”

Harmanpreet said that the plan was to hit the ball as hard as she could and succeeded in doing that.

“The plan was just watch the ball, hit it hard and this is what I was doing.” But she had to be cautious because when she walked in, India was tottering at 35 for 2 in the 10th over. “Some areas they were bowling well but I just wanted to hit and rotate the strike.”

After her knock, the official Twitter handle of Cricket World Cup shared a GIF of reactions given by Australian bowlers when Harmanpreet Kaur was smashing them all around the park.
