VIDEO: Two Most Spectacular Catches By Sachin Tendulkar

One of the greatest players to have ever played the game, Sachin Tendulkar was known more for his batting than other aspects of the game. He was also a good bowler but his fielding would be described as just above average at best.

However, during his younger days as an international cricketer, Sachin was better than most of his slower teammates. He has taken some superb catches in his long career and two very memorable ones are featured here.

Versus Pakistan:

Against a strong Pakistan team, Sachin was fielding at short square leg when the batsman skied the ball. Sachin had to run backwards in order to take the catch – something that is very difficult to do as the ball is coming from behind you.

However, he kept his eyes on the ball throughout and even avoided the fielder charging in from deep mid-wicket and pulled off an absolute stunner.

Versus England:

Many years back when Sachin was still a youngster, he pulled off one of the great catches against an England team. Fielding at long off, the batsman hit the ball high towards the mid off region.

Knowing that he would have to cover a lot of ground, Sachin kept his head up and charged forward. Keeping his eyes on the ball, he stretched his right arm out and the ball stuck, dismissing the batsman back.
