It is MS Dhoni’s birthday today and the whole cricketing fraternity is celebrating it. One of the greatest captains in the history of the game, MS Dhoni commands respect from his fans, and also critics.

Over the years, Dhoni has time and again proved that he is the greatest tactician in the history of the game. As India’s captain, Dhoni achieved everything that he could have wished for.

His journey as Indian captain started in the ICC World T20 2007, in which he led a young Indian team to glory. Many cricket pundits believe that it was a turning point in Indian cricket history. Long-brown haired Dhoni inspired the young Indian team and brought great joy to his nation by lifting the first ever T20 World Cup in England.

After World T20 2007, Dhoni’s stature in Indian cricket grew many folds. He kept working hard on his game and as a result, he was eventually made the captain of all three formats of the game.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, MS Dhoni became the poster boy of Indian cricket and he was leading his childhood heroes in the middle. Dhoni’s captaincy yielded results in India’s favour as India became the number 1 ranked team in Test cricket and later won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

And, all this while, when the whole world was going gaga over Dhoni’s charismatic and inspiring style of captaincy, the lad from Ranchi was just enjoying his game and winning trophies for India. Dhoni’s last major trophy as Indian captain was ICC Champions Trophy 2013. It was the only major ICC trophy he hadn’t won.

On the occasion of MS Dhoni’s 35th birthday, his fan and popular Youtube Vinod Buddy made a brilliant video as a tribute to the legend. Watch it here:
