3 Funniest Things MS Dhoni Said From Behind The Stumps Last Night

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has always been perceived as a player whose calmness defines him on a cricket field. Unperturbed by the situation and with minimal expressions on his face, he gets the job done with maximum conviction everytime he steps onto a cricket field. Though he might not be the captain now but he still has mastery in the art of getting best out of every player.

He constantly chirps from behind the wickets with playful taunts, sharp and short orders and wise advice, which generally results in a wicket most often than that. His relationship with Ashwin from behind the stumps in particular, has yielded innumerable wickets for India as it did against West Indies today just that it was Kuldeep Yadav who reaped the rewards this time. He might not speak much but whatever he does generally turns into gold.

During the second ODI MS Dhoni was at his chirpy best behind the stumps. Commentator Harsha Bhogle, while doing Hindi commentary said that, if he could, he would just raise the volume of stump mic and hear MS Dhoni narrate the entire scene from behind the stumps. Here are 3 funniest things MS Dhoni said last night:

1) When Ashwin was too busy appealing, he missed an easy run-out chance: “Ball dekho, Ash. Kahan dhyaan hai?” (Look at the ball, Ashwin. Where are you lost?)

2) When Kuldeep Yadav was bowling short assuming Rovman Powell will step out: “Yeh (Rovman Powell) aage nahin badega. Andar se hi marega.” (He will not step out. He will look to hit big from behind the crease.”

3) When Virat Kohli wanted to use DRS but Dhoni knew it was missing: “Leg stump ke bahar jar rahi hai. Review kaharab ho jayega aur kuch nahin.” (It is missing leg stump. We will waste one review and nothing else.)
