Shreyas Iyer
Iyer has long been touted as a regular Indian team opener and with good reason. The Mumbai-based batsman has shone in the IPL, having recently scored a superb 96 and also in the longer formats of the game. In the practice game against the Australians before their 4-match Test tour in the country, he managed to hit a century and put his name into contention. He has a sound technique and a good temperament to go ahead and be a starter for the Indian squad.
Sanju Samson
The Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman is another player who has the talent to make it to the Indian squad. He has been in good form for the Delhi Daredevils and has the array of strokes to play in the big leagues. The only thing he needs to work on is his inability to convert good starts and that will come with experience. He looks an exciting prospect and the fact that he is a good wicketkeeper too will help his cause.
Rishabh Pant
The player who has the ability to take any bowling attack to the cleaners, Rishabh Pant has shown his class for Delhi Daredevils in this IPL. He is still only 19 years of age and already has a triple century in First class cricket to his name. If he continues batting and playing the way he does, it won’t be long before Pant becomes a regular starter for the Indian team across all formats.
Mandeep Singh
The RCB batsman is a player whose development has been hampered off late but he still holds a lot of promise. Singh has 11 centuries in First class cricket and could still make an impact in the Indian team. Mandeep plays for Punjab domestically and is a good prospect to take the opening slot.
Manan Vohra
Another player who has good temperament to make it in the Indian team is Manan Vohra. The KXIP batsman has been lauded by none other than Virender Sehwag himself who says that he has the skill to make it big. He will need to work a bit more on his technique and he will be able to make it to the Indian squad.
